Thanks for the input everyone. Yes Presto I did 'reach for a measuring tool' and measure everything.. As suggested the OS of the plug is 14mm. The kit I bought is 14mm but the plug rattles around in it, so it's obviously too big. Thanks once again everyone...I'll sort it.

What kind of insert are you using?
If it's a wire type like a Helicoil it will not be the correct size until fitted on place.
As for other types like Timesert they also conform when fitted. 🔧🔧🔧
