But if the casquette is now full of battery, where do you put your sandwiches?

LiFePo's are good as can be installed any way up!

Very nice. That looks like the 5 Speed E/S Deluxe model which was sold in Europe and the US but not in the UK, our importers thought we should have had the Sixty-5 model instead. Pazon ignition is a good idea.

You're spot on, that's indeed a mainland EU Bullet 500 5Speed ES. When I was first looking at it, I didn't know what it was since most information I had and could find online was UK, US or India-centric. So I'm quite impressed you can tell at a glance like that :D

Being able to tell the difference between a Sixty-5 and a 5 Speed Deluxe E/S is probably a sign that I need to get out more...

The one possible fly in the ointment is that, having eliminated all the tinware between the rear mudguard and the engine, you now have nothing to distract attention from the rather ugly long through-bolt that is a characteristic of the Indian Bullet frames (unless you fit a Woodsman style high-level exhaust). You could paint the bolt head and corresponding nut black, of course...

I've also just now got the two BSC bolts in to hold down the electrics cover. (They're now held down with smaller size bolts and nuts going straight through. It's amazing what collection of threads you'll find on these frames.

And I need to do a proper timing of the ignition, for which I've got a digital tacho under way from China. After which I can use this colortune thing to finalize the carb tuning as well. Then I'll put in this shiny new iridium spark plug.

And then I'll have a pass with my rattle can to see what bolts could do with a bit of black paint :)

I've also still got all the tabs on there to which all these toolboxes, battery carier, airfilter, ... were bolted. But I'm leaving those on until I'll take out the engine for porting and such in a few years. Then I'll strip the frame completely, grind it all down properly, and send it in for sandblasting and powder coating.

Long-term multi-step planning :)
