Hi everybody so I went to go for a ride today,,,I put the bike in 1st gear let out the clutch and my kick start hit me in the leg,,so well I did it a couple more times slowly releasing the clutch and I can see the kick start rolling back,,,, any clues what's going on? I didn't take it out for a ride cuz I was worried. I also turned off the bike kicked it a couple times off then turned the key started it up and it was still doing it...., I'm new to this bike and wasent sure if this happens and I just didn't notice it. It runs great kicks over by 2nd kick ...it's a 2001 bullet 500

There is no unusual play in anything and the kick fully returns to normal position also. Woundering if it could be some sort of built up pressure in there,,,,any help would be great.

Not an unusual problem on the Albion four speed box. The gearbox layshaft right hand end runs inside the kick-start shaft. Any wear in the bearing causes the ks shaft to revolve with the gearbox shaft. It only happens in first gear usually. It's not a problem short term but needs fixing.
A weak ks return spring doesn't help.
