I have a 1955 700cc twin. I use a Hitchcock rubber o-ring. I put a small bead of Silicone into the groove in the engine side chaincase, coat the o-ring with a light coat of Silicone and put a light coating of Silicone on the flat surface of the outer chaincase. I have also removed the discs from the crankcase breather and routed a duckbill to the drive chain and tapped the top of the integral oiltank and routed a second duckbill to the drive chain. I run ATF filled to the level plug and have no leaks.
