Hi Guys and REVBAND---I had a word with AMAL as to why the CONCENTRIC range of carbs. were designed in the first place and briefly here's their answer}----
http://amalcarb.co.uk/rebuilding-mark-1 ... arburetter --------- the key phrase being "Fuel surge under cornering "....which is where the Centrifugal Force that you mentioned comes into play....In other words that CF acts as a magnifier to a vehicle's static and/or a slow running existing situation.....and, of course CF--by it's very nature only acts across the width of a bike, not in a fore & aft manner........Ah yes--John Tickle....I think the majority of us on this forum are of an age to remember that name the first time around ??...I certainly do...."Extra fuel in the carb for sustained high speed running" ??... No, that would be obtained in the first instance by doubling-up on your fuel supply taps, pipes, double inlet pipe manifold etc. and in this scenario the bowl is only a staging post along the route.......I designed, built and raced Methanol-powered solo Grass Track bikes for some 10 years back in the 1970's / 80's and as I'm sure you are aware Methanol needs only half the air compared to petrol (ie Twice the amount of fuel roughly--- just for-example purposes )... The sidecar lads had the full effect of CF as they didn't lean and the CF was acting in a straight, horizontal way.....Finally}---- "Fashion accessory" and "Waste of Money" in the same breath ??...oops, don't let Mr H hear you saying that --LoL !!
