Enfield had a large Industrial Engines division at the Redditch factory and expanded it a lot after the war,. They supplied motors to all sorts including light railway engines, fork lifts, narrow boats and reversing engine gearbox units to the Admiralty for launches. These were mostly diesels. I had some parts and instruction manuals which came in a job lot so I gave them to the REOC Archives. I've also seen a small petrol motor (at the Redditch Revisited event some while back) that must have been made pre-War and was badged as an ECC (Enfield Cycle Company) unit but no idea what it would have been fitted to.

thanks for the info , if it does not sell and I have to keep it (never mind more time in the shed) I will strip it down just to take a better look , I am interested to see what they have done here (I already have one stationary engine douglas) I will let you know what I find with regards the ignition
