As I understand it the Scrambles seat is very comfortable as long as you can handle the extra height. Is there a stout rear rack usable with either the B5 or C5 and Scrambles seat?

Can anyone comment on the dual English seat vs the Scrambles seat as far as comfort for multiple day rides.

Having short legs, I have investigated and tried other seats on the C5. Due to the large bracket for the rubber bush on the C5 solo seat, the range of seats that will fit the C5 is more restricted then the B5. I have tried the dual seat on the C5 and found it higher than the solo seat. As far as I can tell the scrambles is effectively 2/3 of a dual seat. I have now refitted the original solo seat on steel brackets without the springs and rubber bush thus lowering it a good inch and find it far more comfortable without the pogo effect; better bike control too because your weight is not constantly shifting and you feel better connected to the bike.

Perhaps I should add the solo seat is lowered with the optional C5 pillion seat fitted, which can be used as a rack without the seat pad.



Personally I opted for a luggage web and a pair of leather panniers mounted on modified Electra pannier frames, which do fit to C5 frame and pillion with a bit of cutting and bending.



It can all depend on the look you are trying to achieve.
