All done and happy, convinced it was down to the newly built motor not being torqued down after running in. reground the valves for the sake of it and i was lucky there were no washers fitted to the head so our Hosts washers popped straight in and i could see no distortion anywhere. I sprayed the newly blasted head with a good quality VHT so that should stay nice and clean. Need to do a few miles then tighten down the head and redo tappets etc, will drop the oil as well, always feels good to do that i think. Thanks again for the help.
