I don't find the bars a problem but the seat - that could be replaced with a concrete bench and it would be softer! I bought the small pillion Airhawk for my poor bum . . .

I use an Airhawk on my C5 anyway, even though the seat isn't bad. I just like Airhawks. As for the rear mounting on a mid 2015 onwards C5 the tank has a small flange welded on that has two holes through which a bolt and large washer pass, tightening a little against a rubber buffer. Nothing to do with the head steady. A neat arrangement.
