Hello,
Accidentally ordered (must have been tired) the following tyres: 3.50/19 and 4.00/19. Will they fit?
Cheers, Adam

My 500 Electra X(ish) is shod with 110/80 19" knobblies front and rear, BUT as I understand it those would not fit some Enfields.

It has taken me a while but they fit. Plenty of room to spare on the rear and the wiring harness is well clear.
Now just need to get the thing started!

Due to rear tyres chewing through wiring or corrosion on other motorcycles one of the first mods I did to my Electra X (ish) was to run the wiring above the mudguard by merely raising the number plate/indicator mount with two stainless spacers from our hosts so the wiring fit between the mount and the mudguard.

Me and the bike tyre chap at the local workshop looked at fitting the next sizes up to my C5. There's bags of room at the rear but the front mudguard clearance is such that it is tight on width and will only take its stock 90/90-19 and no wider although there is enough height to get your hand in there. The stock rear is 110/80-18 but the alternative size is 120/80-18 which I think is a 4.00 equivalent. Trick with the loom is to fasten it over to one side so even if you bottom out the tyre cannot touch it. If anything solid gets stuck betwixt front mudguard and rubber, the bike will stop, suddenly.
