Tim thanks for help have done the conversion all went well few hours work, lights are brighter and working well, couple of small hiccups with which wire to use for power to the lights.
wires from my alternator were red, black, yellow and amber might have been orange. Checked outputs and used the best ones, my cables went to red to purple, black to purple, yellow to yellow and amber to amber in the loom, I put red to orange and black to yellow.
The outputs to the battery were headlight on 12.75 dcv, headlight off 13.30 dcv, when tried the combination only got about 11.50dcv.
I wired a relay as was mentioned in a previous post by Norm taking the trigger wire from the rear brake light switch a feed wire from the battery with a fuse in it, earth went to where I mounted the relay which was where the AC regulator sat and then yellow from the loom went on the accessory terminal,
the yellow/red from the AC regulator I put a blind termination on it and the remaking orange I put to earth. Bike seems run well will find out more when I get chance to take her for a decent ride.
