My 350 Enfield has been making a noise from the primary chain area for a while. No noise under load or on the overrun but noise at light load. I have run the engine with the primary cover off and can see the top run of the chain flapping about. Cant see any bad marking on the inside of the case. The chain tension is ok I think. I have fitted the rubber faced adjuster screw from Hitchcocks but that has not helped. Next plan is to remove and check the chain and check the clutch is tight on its shaft. Anyone got information about this problem? Thanks. Andy.

There should be about 1/2" play.
Try checking the play at various places round the chain - if it's worn unevenly this could be the problem.
Also, the clutch may not be completely concentric on the mainshaft.

My 500 Bullet had a noise like that, for some reason, removing the Samrat rockers and refitting the original- type rockers cured it.
