Some years ago I bought a cheap lo-vo engraver from Halfords or Maplins. It's ok but could have had more grunt. Not the worst cheap tool ever, it is light but the nose bearing doesn't like side pressure and it lacks power.

Within a few weeks I simply had to get a Dremel with mains power. That has grown into a pretty full kit.

Cheap tools are often a waste of money, bendy spanners, Allen keys that round off, screwdrivers that become corkscrews.

I've also found that if you dive into your local trading estate you'll find industrial quality tools at little more than the DIY ones in the high street.
