Hi. I have a 1993 enfield. It has had a new loom (fitted by main dealer) and new coil. Currently it does not start; no spark.
I have taken the opportunity of fitting electronic ignition.
The rectifier/ regulator I do not recognise. It most certainly is not an Enfield one. The original one is still bolted to the bottom of the rear mudguard.

When tested (meter set to diode) results are:
With red lead of tester on red wire of unit;
black on white = OL
black on green =OL
with Black lead of tester on red wire of unit
red on white 0.52
red on green 0.47

Using OHMs on tester with stator wires (3 wire into 2):

Across White and Green Wire = OL
from individually green and white to engine and frame = OL.

Are these readings within specification or are units showing faults. We have to assume my tester is working correctly.

thanks

If you dont know what it is that you are looking at, how do you expect anyone else who reads this Forum to recognise the unit?

If you do not know how to fault-find with a Multi meter, you really do need to do some studying? But for now, you will be better off taking the bike to an auto electrician or the Agent...

W - G resistance should be .5 - 1 ohms

W - V resistance 1 - 2 ohms

All of which means little with regard to your situation of no spark...
