I'm feeling very pleased with myself as last night I managed to kick-start Lola for the first time. Like you, switch on ignition, let the fuel pump go, two or three slow kicks (when the fuel pump whirrs), a bit of 'choke' and a bit of throttle in time with the swift kick and viola! It's very satisfying.

Glad you sorted it Deanobats; very satisfying it is indeed! Took mine to local classic bike club the other night. A friend has acquired a Venom. It started first kick; sadly mine took two; obviously it was having a laugh! First time out at night. The lights are superb, truly 21st century. 200 miles done now, so first service due soon.

Will post names of bikes when I've more time. What about a thread on how many miles people have managed on EFI bikes? All seem a bit low mileage; am I right?

This is probably the worst, crudest, clunkiest forum software I've ever had the misfortune to use. No quoting, no editing, and the need to enter HTML just to break a paragraph!

I've argued for a update to something like the US equivalent at Classic Motorworks.

Unfortunately many users of this forum implied they were too old to change to something better, and others suggested it would be most ungrateful to Hitchcocks, who provide this forum at their own expense, so we should be grateful and not complain. I won't tell you what I feel about people who insist they can't cope with the level of change required to use a more up to date forum.

I'm inclined to agree with Thack re the frustration of using this board, but it is what it is and, unlike many others is at least free from subscriptions. Like I said, I'd be happy to pay a few quid to be able to quote selected bits of posts, to use emoticons to give a sense of meaning and to be able to edit. None of these features should upset current users and anyway, if RE expands as it is set to do (MC Sport and Leisure aerticle refers) there'll be a lot more IT savvy, younger users wanting to exchage info and views. Me, I'm nearly an OAP but still capable of doing a lot with computers. I draw the line at having to use HTML to post though; my HTML is about as good as some posters' Latin....

Which reminds us all of what we are riding around on. I like it. But I know a bit about HTML.

Don't know much about mechanicals though... or electricals.

Which is why I couldn't be without this forum.
