Having read through you're post again you say the bike is running well if so and it is not smoking using oil etc I would suggest you leave it as is just ride and enjoy it.

Andy W. No-one has mentioned tight tappets - easy enough to check but they may be just a tad too tight so teh valve remains open when cold (or even hot).
