If anyone's thinking of a replacement exhaust pipe and silencer for their iron 500 they could do a lot worse than the budget Indian 50's version. It makes a nice baritone sound, not too harsh and raspy, but loud enough to resonate off drystone walls and buildings. I have had mine for six years now and it has been used all year round in all weathers, rain, sleet, ice and salty roads. It looks rough but is still sound and solid. Here's a go at posting a pic.

I've used them on two different bikes at various times, the good ones are spot on for exhuast note, though depending on where you buy them some can be a bit quieter than others and the quality of finish is variable! Our hosts should have some in stock.
