Stef, where is it broken, if it is around the kickstart shaft and you get it welded up you will never get it to seal properly, I have seen a few of them done like that and they go straight in the bin

It's not around the kickshaft. It's uhm...like someone took a hammer to the covers just for fun. It's broken at the top left corner. I can't reuse the outer cover since the parts are gone, but the inner cover is salvageable.

right, cover off to a proper good alu welder who works at brussels airport, as well as the gearbox casing to repair the poor cast. The honda guru got the gearbox sprocket loosened with the help of a massive air wrench. More tba!
