Gordon, not sure what you are planning on spot welding but if it is the pivot bolt, just remember this bolt takes a lot of load under braking, it is the only thing which prevents the backing plate from spinning when the brake is applied

Thanks, Norm and Mark. I sounded a tad cavalier about
'spot welding', and really prefer a one piece pivot
bolt from another Redditch model. Simon's and your tale
of loose cushdrive nuts show the outcome of being sloppy
in this area.
