Hello all.

I did a routine oil and filter change approx. 300 miles ago and I have now developed an oil 'weep' from the oil filter cover.

A bit annoying as I also went to the trouble of changing the filter rubber seal and paper gasket.

Has anyone had a similar experience? If so, is there anything I can try to fix it or do I need to purchase one of our hosts gasket sealant products (any recommendations?) and a new gasket?

Thank you in anticipation, and safe riding.

Did you overtighten the bolts and warp the cover by any chance? Or... more likely, is the gasket slightly nicked? I haven't had a drop of oil come from there in nearly 7 years, except when I nicked the gasket during one change. The sprocket oil seal and the kick start oil seal however... drip drip!

I also had an oil leak from the oil filter cover on my 2011 Clubman. I had done an oil and filter change and been riding the bike for several months. Prior to using it one day I started it to check the oil level only to find oil pouring out from the filter cover!
Cover off, new 'O'ring and gasket fitted and cover screws torqued to correct setting, started the bike and still had a leak (nowhere near as bad as it had been originally).
Once again cover off, new 'O'ring, new gasket and good quality gasket sealer (both sides of the gasket).Refitted the cover and no leak! Been ok now for several months. Due another oil and filter change in a couple of months so fingers crossed.
