Ok so does anybody know how I can test these leds to see what power they are drawing with a mulitleter?

Norm, I notice the LED headlight / foglight bulb is from Hong Kong, nothing against that, I bought a camera kit from there, and even with import duty is was a lot cheaper than U.K. But I noticed in the table of places they ship to they include UK, but in the table of places they don't ship to, one of them is Scotland! I didn't know they were already independant.

Norm:- if you have a multimeter, just use W=VxI . measure actual voltage and actual current, multiply together for actual wattage. repeat for each item and add them all up for total wattage.

... Just a thought, - Are you sure you have your low tension connectors to the coil the right way round.....?

Thanks Zippy and yes I have the coil wires the right way around, problem is the leds are super sensitive to voltage variations, using normal bulbs no problems

A bit of a B*gger then, :/ Looks like you're going to have to invent a smoothing circiut for one side or the other - or seperate power supplies. :(
