Just the standard type not the forged one. The head gasket is a homemade .5mm solid copper one with a wiping of Loctite high temp flange sealant to avoid leaks on the tricky bits around the pushrods tubes etc.

G'day, You might be right about the 18T front sprocket but I'm not giving up yet. After fitting the Mikarb/Pod/Goldie, the thing went quite a bit better but I needed to clean up and adjust the carb. The engine is starting to loosen up after 300k's, Ive replaced the oil and ordered some different jets so I can muck around with tuning. On an open flat road, the bike accelerates normally until cruising in top gear (80-85k). There's a sweet spot where it seems to cruise effortlessly, but, try to give it some gas and it seems to bog down. I've downloaded the carby tuning guide from mikunioz and see how I go with simple mods. As far as the hills go, some are still OK, but some are a second gear job where the old 16T would eat in top gear. Because the engine is a lot stronger now, I think the close ratio gears will give me a better range. Anyway, thats my two bobs worth for the time being. Ride safe!
