I have a 1965 Continental GT. When changing down through the gears, there are only false neutrals until I get to 1st gear. Changing up is fine. I am sure that this is going to be down to adjustment of the linkage. Does anyone have any advice or documentation on how this can/should be done?
Many thanks
Nigel

Wyn, if you go into Technical Notes (left sidebar on this site,) and select "250 Engine Rebuild" you will find a practical guide to sorting this well known problem out. It was written by Jack Gray a well known Enfield Dealer some years ago and is the best explanation you'll get. Welcome to the world of 250 Ownership! There is a dedicated Yahoo News Group for the 250s at https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Cru ... group/info so come and make yourself known!

Hi Mark
Many thank for your quick reply! It sounds pretty straightforward.... I must admit, I have had a thge bike a few years and haven't had to do anything at all to it - and have just lived with the neutral gears. But as I am about to sell the bike, I thought I should at least make an attempt to improve the gearchange. If all else fails, I have a complete 4 speed box that I will give to next owner so that he can improve it himself... If you know of anyone after a GT, let me know! I'm on 07889 727120. As I'm selling the bike it seems a bit late to join the Yahoo group!
Thanks again
Nigel
