Tzen, and if you continue to give it a bit of welly, fuel supply problems will be the least of your worries

Tzen,

My Electra went through a spate of this and it turned out to be water in the fuel. I drained off half a jam jar and it separated out 50/50. It tended to glob up around the filter and along with all the other stuff (petrol varnish, paint, pond life and whatever) blocked the flow. Temp fix was to take the fuel pipe off at the carb and blow which dislodged enough to get where I was going, so I could drain/clean the tank. Happy fiddling.

Thanks Paul, I will do all of that when I remove the tap assembly...the bike had only done 2,700 miles with the previous owner (since 2007), so any amount of wildlife could be resident in the tank!

Forgotten which carb you have but you might think about taking of the float bowl and checking any filters there as well. Along with anything resident that shouldn't be there.
