Just in case anyone is as trusting as I am (was) although the handbook says 'Engine oil capacity - 2.75 litres' that's not the amount you need for an oil change.

According to our good hosts 2 litres should be more than enough.

Just thought it might save you some time and oil.

Happy riding!

Whoops! Hope you didn't overfill - drain a wee bit off if you did. You never get all the oil out, but if you happen to be doing any work inside either outer case then a lot more oil drains!

A good method is to fill gradually and with the bike on level ground watching the sight-glass in the engine unil the level is correct. That's what itsd for, instead of a dip-stick.

When doing an oil change, providing the level is ok before, I measure what comes out and put the same amount back in. Saves running it, waiting; topping up etc.
