I agree it's not worthwhile reconditioning the Indian ones. I replaced mine with new Gabriel Indian made shocks for $110 a pair. They are perfectly good shocks and of course have the advantage of fresh springs and dampers. There is no question the Hagons are a nicer bit of kit but at three times the cost it made me pause for thought especially when considering the build quality of the rest of the bike. The Girlings that I had on the old bullet did come completely apart and were quite straight forward to renovate .
