Ah one of the benefits of the old amber nectar, Glad its sorted mate…. Take the trouble to get the alignment right though or the bike will corner like a crab…

i didn't pay attention to this once and found i would fall into left handers but had to fight to get round right handers… Got down on the floor behind the bike and could see the rear wheel was pointing to the right… couldn't believe how i could have been so stupid…. Lesson learned..

Gwilly, my Electra did exactly the same when I bought it new, turned out the frame was twisted and after checking it myself and telling the dealer they had the frame straightened, handled better after that

Snail adjusters - another device that helps the bike decided whether it accepts you as it's custodian or not!

I tried a laser pointer to get the back wheel straight. Right!

I'm now back to the string method. String touches front and back of both wheels at the same time and does it on both sides, then back wheel is straight.

Yes Scaly, string is nice and simple. A good check is to have someone ride behind you and observe. It's dead obvious if the wheels are out of line.

A long time ago I set up the wheel alignment with straight edges, noted the difference between the two snail cams.
Made life very easy whenever the wheel is out or a chain is changed.
