I have two 500 classic bullets, one LH shift other RH shift (otherwise same bike)

The RH shift bullet is now retired with a gearbox problem and I do not have the time to fix it at the moment.

Question is, how difficult would it be to convert the good bike to RH shift using the parts from the retired bike.

Reasons for wanting to do this
1. After riding the RH shift bike for 16 years got used to it.
2. Authenticity like the Reddich Bullets
3. Would like to fit the side stand (which I believe is not possible with the LH shift 4 speed box.

Would appreciate any advise.

Toddy, usually quicker to fix the gearbox problem on the first bike, but if you insist on swapping the bits over remember you are going to end up with a bike in bits and will probably end up selling it as a non runner and you get nothing for a basket case. Just remember you have to open both the gearboxes anyway to change the internal foot operator shaft. The rest is fairly straight forward

Norm, thanks for the reply. I did not realise that the gbox has to be split to do this. In which case I will not bother.
Regarding the side stand for a LH shift model, do you know of any options. I like the chrome aftermarket sidestand on my RH shift model.

Toddy,
It is no big deal pulling the end cover off the boxes, just messy because they are full of that horrible grease, just need to go carefully. As for the side stand the left shift Albions use a side stand that mounts to the front engine mount plates. I see them on the odd occasion on ebay, our hosts may be able to help
