In answer to Rich's original question, to get the wall thickness of the tubing, it helps if you have a spare swing arm bush to hand, the wall thickness is the outside diameter of the tube minus the outside diameter of the swing arm bush divided by two.

If you're building a new swing arm you'll probably want to to get a new pair of swing arm bushes to go with it.

Only problem with this idea Adrian the Indian swing arm bushes are rubber

Hi Norm,

I thought the metalastic bushes had a steel inner and outer bush with the rubber forming the bonded layer inbetween, same as the BSA Stafire/Victor. There's a set shown in the catalogue under rear suspension (classic metalastic bushes for EFI owners wanting to replace the plastic version).

If wrong I shall retreat in shame...

Hi Adrian you are right but I think what Rich was after the thickness of the tube running back to the wheel hub and these tubes may not be the same thickness, they may use a special tube to take the swing arm bushes
