I have a fork leg I can't budge, I have used long bar and a rattle gun but not the slightest inkling of it moving. I have sprayed penetrene in there, it doesn't appear to be rusty. This is on a Super Meteor, any thoughts?

Looks like it's time to get medieval on it with a blow torch and the copper/hide hammer to crack the bond , a respray for the upper yoke would add to the cost I know but you cant let it beat you can you , good luck .

Phil, the purpose for pulling it to bits is to repaint it so that isn't a problem

Yep, heat and penetrating oil. See my Bullet rebuild article at greenlane.biz for a photo illustration of a well seized 1955 Casquette!

It has been known for people to try winding it the wrong way. Clockwise from the top to slacken.

Got it out, heat helped but most of the problem was caused by some previous paint job inside the headlight shell with paint on the tubes
