I think if you're sufficiently interested in a topic it's worth registering on a forum devoted to it. If you only have a passing or occasional interest, there are usually enough open forums you can read. What's the problem?

Back to the original topic ... the points on my 2006 Indian Bullet were looking a bit pitted and worn, so I bought a couple of cheap sets, probably from India but I can't remember. One set would not close completely; the other would close but were so badly aligned that only about half the area of the points came into contact. So I ground fresh surfaces onto the old points and refitted them. They are still doing their job 15000 miles later.

Hi guys------ This is The Midland Bullet Riders forum.. I've been on there myself.. Lot of good folk to meet, but it's surprising just how far the "Midlands" extends to !!---------- Yes, be very aware of so-called bargain pistons when it comes to the Enfield.... You pays yer money and you takes yer chances !!
