Can someone help please..... My Electra X has a tickover problem, when I start her up from cold the tickover is fine, a nice steady slow tickover . After one or two miles, when the engine is hot the tickover has become much to fast. When I start her up from cold again the tickover is fine until the engine is hot after a short run .The bike has done 5 thousand miles and in tip top condition, any thoughts anyone ?

Hi Dennis. Mine does that. Don't worry I think they all do that. It means your bike is indeed in tiptop condition and as it should be.

hi dennis mine doesn,t do that,i would try adjusting the throttle stop when warm to turn tickover down ,depending on what carb your running maybe adjusting the air screw & tickover screw in unison might help?i run a amal concentric and warm or cold it maintains a slow even tick over another thought if you are running the standard carb it may be pulling air when warm through the rubber manifold as the perish with age atb paul.

Seems the wrong way round to me. I should adjust the carb for a slow and even tickover when hot and see how it goes when cold. You may have to control it with the choke until warm.

Hi guys----------- seems like you have a temperature - related air leak between the carb. and the inlet manifold........Warm it up and try the old favourite of spraying ANYTHING at all over that area (I use a garden water mister )----- if all IS well then it'll have no effect whatsoever...
