I am about to change the fork legs, springs, bronze bushes and oil seals on my 1953 Model G. Hitchcocks Motorcycles surprised me by suddenly supplying brand new, English made fork legs, parts that has been unavailable for many years. Great, thank you Hitchcocks! Anyway, two questions: .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- 1. Mr. H recommends fork oil SAE 20 for Bullet 1954 - 196x. I suppose this recommendation will be OK for my G also. The forks are almost the same. .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- 2. If I can get the old fork legs off only by undoing the pinch bolts in the fork head and the "part connected to the fork stem", I don't NEED to dismantle the complete fork bearings, do I? I probably will anyway, it's been 10 years since I renewed that one, so an inspection and a "CLA" will probably not be wasted time. But may I leave it in place? .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- Regards, Anders F. R.
