has anyone got any thoughts regarding the efi clutch push pad /bearing set up on the efi the bearing sits in a steel housing that locates in the clutch centre the push pad runs through the bearing ,on the one i,ve just seen ,the bearing just works as a sloppy support, as the push pad must move ,its got to be the worst piece of engineering i,ve seen in a long time any thoughts?atb paul.

Isn't it strange how folks seem to criticise parts on RE bikes - even new models? I seem to recollect that that clutch set up is exactly the same as on many Japanese bikes - which work wonderfully, in fact the clutch on the EFI is a Kawasaki unit. I dont know of any clutch problems on EFI bikes, mine is just very light and has never played up. Just an observation....

As Wayne remarks, EFI clutch operation is light and smooth. I have never needed to make any adjustment in 6,500km. The factory workshop manual has no significantly useful information or illustration of the supporting mechanism. My only adverse comment is that if I am a bit too quick on the throttle, before the clutch is fully engaged, it produces a nasty scream. It is a rare mistake, so I am inclined not to worry. this thread is not a critism ,i just wondered what people had made of the sloppy bearing setup ,the clutch works fine the bearing in the cup seems odd?and because its a kawasaki set up does this mean that its an exact copy? ,i actually thought it smelt of suzuki but there you go happy days
