UPDATE - Yesterday myself and a mate turned the whole bike upside down! First I took off the tank, battery and drained the engine oil, put the casquette back on and swapped the single seat for the dual and laid some old carpet on the garage floor. We then turn it upside down where it balanced on the handlebars and seat. Its quite a strange sight to see underside of your bike but it was the only way to look down the front downtube without a complete strip down. Then, using a syring and tube, I pumped warm waxoyl down the downtube. The problem was the tube was bloody cold and soon the hole was blocked with solid waxoyl. Now what? the wifes hairdryer! I warmed another jug of waxoyl in the microwave until it was like water while my mate warmed the downtube with the hairdryer until it was warm to the touch. This worked and soon waxoyl was starting to ooze out of the frame/headstock join. Mission accomplished, I now feel a bit happier that the inside of the frame and the brazed join is thoroughly covered. If anyone happens to have their bike in bits its worth taking the opportunity to do some internal frame protection because its bloody hard work after the bikes built.
