Hi all,
Nice to see Barry Q's post about his Bullet enjoyment!
Meanwhile I still have not properly sorted my charging problems from a couple of months ago.
I have tested the alternator output and all seems ok, now I am diving into the un-chartered (for me anyway) waters of reg/rec diagnosis... As you may remember I have 2 sets of reg/recs as the previous owner had re-wired the whole system... I have now been given a spare reg/rec (2 units) to see if I can isolate where the problem is. Apart from mucking about with bullet connectors this should be quite straightforward... but is there anyway of testing individual units to see if they are obviously knackered? The regulator I have already removed has 2 pairs of wires leading to a single connector - pic is here (have removed the connector to use it on another unit)

The unit I swapped over has made no difference, bike runs ok with lights off but after a few minutes with lights on the battery runs flat, and I get a minus 2 deflection on the ammeter.
Is there a test I can perform on the reg or the rec using a multimeter?
The other question is has anyone ever bought these Swiss units?

At that price it may be worth a go? The other thing I'm wondering is if one combined unit will be enough... someone out there may have gone through this already?
