hi i have play in my front forks between the stanchion and the lower fork leg. on my continental gt. any ideas how to cure this as they don't have any bushes in them.

Have you measured the stanchion to make sure it's not worn? Sadly it's not likely as the slider is the softer metal but worth a look. If it is the slider I'm afraid replacement is probably the cheapest option as finding someone to bore and bush the slider won't be easy, even Hitchcocks have failed to find someone prepared to do the job! (They were thinking of offering exchange replacements at one stage.)

Assuming that you have a 7" front brake and you're not too bothered with originality you could fit Indian Bullet forks and Indian brake plate. All depending on the age of the forks you may need a later brake cable with a metric threaded adjuster as well. The forks are visually identical other than the axle has a little more lead on the Indian forks . (Hence the brake plate.)
If you want it to look 100% then post 1956 English forks would do the job and they have replaceable bushes and would match your existing brake plate.

hi it is the sliders thats worn and getting replacements isn't easy. but thanks for info, may have to try lateer forks and wheel
