At last I have resolved the problems....The carb problem seemed to be the new set of jets I installed from our hosts although I can’t see anything wrong with them....In desperation I cleaned up the old jets and blew the carb through with yet more carb cleaner and put everything back as it was..... The weak spark it turned out to be the coil which you could fry an egg on as it was running that hot, also I had incorrectly set the timing, too retarded....So with the carb rebuilt and the new coil fitted I started her up this morning and set the idle mixture and the tick over and went for a 45 mile run.....Hoorah!!! Cracked it's running beautifully, oh deep joy.....Checking the plug on return I find it is a little on the weak side, light coffee but as I don’t thrash it, it should be ok......Many thanks to you who responded to my plight, much appreciated.....Phil
