Hi Les,
I ran my MZ's on a full synthetic oil made by Silkolene so I never had an MZ seize although I did thash them around the IOM
The OEM pistons in my BMW R65 are miles better than any after market ones although Mahler pistons are not bad when fitted in MZ's.
I love two strokes too. My most reliable engine was a Vespa 180. Very well made. That said I have ridden my VFR 800Fi at 130mph + the length of France in a day and at Calais it just purred away as if it had been down the paper shop and back. I love all bikes even Harleys hehe.
