Hello No3 Phew!! All this "on any Sunday" ??------------you mentioned in your first posting that the carb had a "blow-dry"  What are you using for this ??---------to properly blow these drillings you must use compresed air at around 100psi.  A puff with your lungs just aint up to it.  BACK_BLOW ie against the directon of flow then prove each separate drilling with a squirt of carb-cleaner. It's time consuming and tedious but needs to be done. Then do the same to all the jets----check the emulsion tube cross-drillings are clear and the clamp-washer at the botom is held firmly in place by the main jet.                                                                                            This is the British Bulldog Spirit in action here ( Includes our mates in Oz by "familly" association).                                                                                                      I suppose you could buy another bike and swap the No. plates ?  Only joking !!  But still----------------hmmm-----------

Yes to all the latest possible solutions to this little problem. Will dust off said Bullet on Wedenesday and up the pressure on the compressor and see what happens. Hopefully, next posting will be more positive, as aching to get some mileage on the clock now the decent weather is here.

HELLO MATEY !!!! Carb is on it's way to you as of 11.00am yesterday morn. Expect it will be delayed over the Easter Hols. Make sure your slide is the standard No3 and the needle clip is in the No.3 position ( No1 is the top slot and No.5 is the bottom one). Please don't do any adjustments as it was taken off my running bike and all was well.( 2005 Classic 500). Just fit and start. It SHOULD be OK. If not then you have an issue elsewhere. Good Luck.

Haveing checked/changed/tried and tested just about everything, I think my rattling silence is the problem. I'm now running fairly weak, all the time, (compared to an almost sooty plug tip), have covered over 1500 k's since all this trouble began. As mentioned before, carb/ign./exhaust are factory standard kit. The original "cigar" silencer (142901) has a healthy rattle, probably caused last summer when the condenser failed and I had one or two large "explosions" limping said Bullet home. Makes a nice thumping sound though, never did this before, but then again, with all the noises these bikes make, I find it's difficult to know when something is getting noisier, especially at speed.

Is there a fix/bodge for the standard silencer! Is there a (cheap) alternative replacement out there!
Unless I have to, I'll keep the carb/jets/air filter as standard, they work fine for me, as I dont really want the expense of changing the downpipe/silencer/jets/air filter. Come MOT time, not sure if it will pass.

And reading about carb blow-back issues here, very amusing, but I dont think you'll ever get a carb blowing off with the standard "tea caddy" set-up. The Indians know what works?

Just browsing here and noticed a Universal Silencer, 91045. Can anyone recommend this as a fix for my Bullet? £38+ tax sounds reasonable.
