Thanks lads,

Think I might have got it wrong boys, looks as if my main problem has been to weak a mixture, have set the air screw back to where it was, and lifted the main neddle jet up one notch (4) Carbs were never my strong point, will give the old beastie a try when the bloody rain stops.

Have a quick read of the above. It will emphasise the need to make sure you have a slightly rich mixture for running-in a new engine to avoid a piston seizure. Any excess of carbon build up can be blasted away later when you have it nicely run in and you have weakened off the mixture again.
