My Indian workshop book from the 1990's says to use a straight 50 and my 2007 classic 4 speed is very happy on it, no oil leaks and no knocks or rattles from the motor. She gets the cheapo 20/50 from the local discount store for the winter but that is never in the engine for more than a few hundred miles so is more of a flush out really.

But the Stright 30 is inHudge Drums for Lawn mowers & tractors.


In my Early India Enfield Days when i was a Fitter in the (Steam) Boiler house ,I used Steam oil in the Gear Box (a wax based one not the One that attacks Brass Bushes) Diesel oil in the Oil Tank, And Any watery Petrol others where skiping.


In defence (And Beeing poor) The Knakard Old Honda's did very well on it as well, And all my Enfields up to the Present one did to,


Now we have No workshops,Boilers, Or fitters,  Just a Rented Dump a bit of WD40 & a Load of SAE 30... Aledgedly

i use that stuff that looks like fairy liquid from halfords,i dont know if its any good but i like the tin
