I raised this topic in Feb. Dealer had a new ECU from the German importer. 150km round trip in 3 degrees, 5 minutes to fit and checked from cold this morning, result perfect and without any warming up in the garage, though I agree that Enfield do advise to allow a minute or so warming up. The new ECU was supplied by the EFI supplier, Kehlin I believe. Its only visible distinguishing mark was a yellow label "500 EFI Export". Dealer has also proposed when I take it back for its 1st free service, that he will fit an 18 tooth drive sprocket for about 50€ including parts and labour. Certainly feels like it could pull a higher gear. So thats the end to my current problem, next is how to improve the performance of the rear drum brake. Thanks for all the support and advice and esüecially to Cath. You were right.
